I have been saying thank you to God a lot lately. Last night "God says you are welcome" with this beautiful sunset. Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday. It has been a very hard year and God has been good. My son was living in Hawaii and they found out he had cancer. His brother saw him through 6 months of chemo and was a great caregiver. I was here praying for my son but unable to be with him. God is good, he preserved my son for me. John flew in from Hawaii yesterday and late yesterday we decided to go to town to pick up some last minute things for Thanksgiving. As we were traveling from home to Smithfield we saw this wonderful tribute of God's goodness and mercy and grace.
My son John Boyette took this picture of a sunset in Johnston County as we were driving to Smithfield. What a miracle that statement is, that John is alive, that he is here, that God is blessing us everyday even when we don't see His sunsets.
It was a joy to spend time with Mrs. Carness Underwood and have Friday/Sunday School with her. Fidelis Class did a review of several passages of Scripture from the book of Mark. We reviewed the passage from Mark 2:3-12 Minister to the Hurting when 4 friends carried their friend to Jesus on a stretcher.
We also looked at the passage from Mark 6:45-52 Overcome Fear in which Jesus walked on water and when he entered the boat with his disciples the storms ceased.
We finished our study in Mark 12:13-17 Face-Off over Allegiances where Jesus said "Giveback to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's".
It was so nice to spend time with Mrs. Carness Underwood and have a time of study, prayer and fellowship.
